RAY, Robert Percell, 98, of Wheeling passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Bishop J. Hodges Continuous Care.
He was born April 4, 1915, in Ohio County, son of the late Ernest and Olive Hammack Ray.
He retired as traffic manager for 44 years with the former Wheeling Machine Products. He was a member of Ohio Lodge No. 1, A.F.&A.M., PolarBear Golf Club, and a lifetime member of the Ohio Valley Traffic Club. He was also an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Sarka Ray; second wife, Sarah M. Schank Witt Ray; a son, William E. Ray; two stepsons, Russell and David Witt; two brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Erbacher and her finace, Verne Norris of Cadiz, OH; a stepson, Charles Witt and his wife, Brenda of Wheeling; a brother, Floyd Thomas Ray and his wife, Jean Ann of Weirton, WV; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Ray of Wheeling; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), where a service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Hardway officiating.
Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens. Masonic services will be held at graveside.
