HOUGH, Rose Ann Koziel, 60, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 22, 2014 after a 10-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Uniontown, PA, on June 16, 1953, the daughter of John and Rose Marie Koziel.
Rose Ann graduated from Cal University with a bachelor's degree in education and obtained a master's degree from West Virginia University in education.
She married Wesley W. Hough on August 11, 1973, and both have lived in Wheeling, WV, since 1993.
Rose Ann was a teacher before deciding to stay home and raise her five sons.
She always enjoyed helping others, including volunteer work at St. Michael's Parish Church and School. Some of her favorite things to do were taking pictures, shopping, baking cookies and making her own cards on the computer to send to everyone for their special occasions.
Rose Ann's courage and strength during her illness was truly inspirational. She touched many people's lives in a positive way. One of Rose Ann's favorite sayings was "Celebrate Life."

It cannot conquer your Spirit.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Ron Koziel.
Sadly missed by her parents, John and Rose Marie; husband Wesley, five children: Kevin Hough of Fairmont, WV, Brian (Linda) Hough of Wheeling, Jason Hough of Fairmont, Brandon Hough and Alyssa of Wheeling and Justin Hough of Wheeling; one granddaughter, Kylie; three sisters: Joyce Walters, Patty Perkins and Lori Mariotti; three brothers: John, Bob and Tom Koziel; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.
Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
