KEADLE, John M., 88, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Wellsburg, WV.
He was born September 18, 1925 in Yorkville, OH, a son of the late John E. and Myrtle (Brooks) Keadle.
John retired as a crane operator from the former Blaw-Knox Foundry of Wheeling, WV. He was a member of American Legion Post #38, Martins Ferry and V.F.W. Post #4811, Yorkville, OH, and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann (Gregg) Keadle, son, Michael Gregg Keadle, grandson, Craig Jason Keadle, brothers; Roger and George Keadle, and sisters; Mary Kot and JoAnn Saus.
Surviving are his daughters: Cindy (Bill) Dietrich of Triadelphia, WV, Carolyn (Bob) Hildebrand of Wellsburg, WV and JoAnn (Leonard) Thompson of Belt, MT, brothers; Bill (Betty) Keadle of Cheyenne, WY and Phil (Judy) Keadle of Springfield, OH, sisters; Jean (Ohmer) Swartz of Marion, OH and Esther (Tom) Hartshorn of Hickory, NC, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday 4-8 p.m. where services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Bullman officiating. Burial follows in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, OH.
Military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Belmont County Honor Guard, Thursday at 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.
