Nurses from Wheeling Hospital, its Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center and affiliate Belmont Community Hospital, have been honored with Nurse Excellence Awards as part of National Nurses Week.
This year's theme for National Nurses Week, May 6-12, is "Nurses Leading the Way."
Receiving recognition at the annual Nurse Excellence Awards Ceremony were nurses Patricia Trubiano in the Professional Center Operating Room at Wheeling Hospital, and Charity Rogers, BCH; and Deborah Garr of CCC.
"As we've said many times - nurses are at the heart of what we do. We often tout our specialists, new technologies and awards. But behind it all, are our nurses. They're on the front lines - caring, dedicated and going beyond the call of duty. We thank them all," said Ron Violi, chief executive officer.

Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Stahl said, "Here at Wheeling Hospital we are truly blessed with a group of nurses who demonstrate their leadership every day for their patients, families, the facility and our community. I feel so honored to lead such a wonderful group of nurses, and on behalf of the Department of Nursing and administration, I would like to thank each and every one of them for all they do every day."
Other activities during this year's observance of National Nurses Week at Wheeling Hospital include prize drawings, an ice cream social, a dessert luau and chair massages. In addition, a decorated nurses cap display can be view in the Main Lobby.
