Dorothy Alys Moore, 95, of Morgantown, WV, died to this physical life on Sunday morning May 11, 2014, at the Fitzwater Assisted Living Home in Fairmont, West Virginia.
She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dorothy was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on February 8, 1919. She was the daughter of the late William E. and Alma K. Archey and John George Keys.
She graduated from Sherrard High School in 1936 and was her class valedictorian.
She was married to Byron W. Moore for 61 years until his death in September 1999.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her infant son, Fredrick W. Moore, and two daughters-in-law, Kathleen Ford Moore and Jean Miller Moore.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Jerry Moore and spouse, Pam, of Wheeling, Richard Moore and spouse, Linda, of Morgantown, Susan Moore of Morgantown, and Robert Moore and spouse, Diana of Fairmont. Dorothy was blessed with five grand children: Lori Moore Shea and spouse, Drew, Jason Moore, Christopher Moore and spouse Rachel, Kimberly Moore Taylor and spouse, Richard and Erin Moore Shankle. She enjoyed her five great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Madison, Mackenzie Shea, Zachery Hess, and Beckett Moore.
Dorothy was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful homemaker. She was an active member with the Morgantown Church of Christ where she taught children's bible classes and worked with the women's ministry. Her home was an open door and the table was always ready.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at the Heritage Point, Madison Rehab Center, and the Fitzwater Assisted Living Home for the loving and respectful care given Dorothy over the past several years.

Friends may call Dering-Henson Funeral Home Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, May 15, 2014 one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service with Matt Lowe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lawnwood Cemetery, Morgantown, WV.
