Referencing her fellow nominees, Adams said they represent the best of the best and thanked Ohio County Schools for the continued support.
Also recognized at the meeting, Boyd was named Ohio County Schools Service Personnel Employee of the Year, which is presented to those who contribute to schools and the community.
Boyd said she is blessed to be part of the Ohio County Schools family. Beginning with Bethlehem Elementary School in 1988, Boyd has 26 years of service to Ohio County Schools.
Ohio County Schools Superintendent Dianna Vargo, who believes Boyd and Adams have proven dedicated to Wheeling Park High School students and staff members, presented both recipients with their awards.
In other business, the board approved Ryan Young's resignation as head girls basketball coach at Triadelphia Middle School to transfer to the same role at Wheeling Park High School. Young, also a social studies and history teacher at the high school, took the opportunity to thank the board at the meeting.
During the meeting, board members also went behind closed doors to discuss legal matters. The board took no action following the executive session.
