A Marshall County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a woman with a kitchen knife and a hunting knife during an argument in his trailer on Fish Creek Road.
Jamie Lee Hoyt, 38, of Proctor is being held at the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond after being charged with three counts of malicious assault and domestic violence.
The criminal complaint filed against Hoyt states the Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to a domestic disturbance at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at 4061 Fish Creek Road.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman on the ground with blood on her left arm and right leg.
The woman stated she and Hoyt had been arguing at his trailer at 57 Bluegill Lane when Hoyt became upset and began punching and kicking the woman in the head.
According to the woman's statement, Hoyt then allegedly stabbed the woman in the right leg with a long kitchen knife and then stabbed her with a hunting knife.
The woman stated she was able to run to the next residence to call for help.
The woman was transported to Ohio Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Deputies later found a hunting knife in a leather case in the bedroom of Hoyt's trailer.
Hoyt has previously been convicted of domestic battery and domestic assault in 2008 and 2012, respectively.
A preliminary hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. June 30 in Marshall County Magistrate Court.
