Rev. James W. Lawson, 73, of Moundsville, WV, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at OVMC, Wheeling.
He was born July 25, 1940, in Roanoke, VA, a son of Robert C. Bryson of Fort Wayne, IN and the late Elizabeth Coleman Fink.
James was a retired minister of the United Methodist faith and was a volunteer chaplain with OVMC, Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Fink; and his stepmother, Anna Mae Ballard Bryson.
Surviving is his wife, Rebecca Shafer Lawson; two children, Denise Yvonne Lawson of Morgantown, WV, and James Aaron Lawson of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Elaine Siegel (Ted Yasuda) of Evanston, IL; four brothers, John (Lois) Lawson of Beckley, WV, Mark (Pat) Fink of TN, David (Cathy) Fink of Little River, SC, and Neil (Nancee) Bryson of Fort Wayne, IN.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St. McMechen, WV, with Rev. Greg Blair, Dewey Broyles and Karl Reese officiating.
