"The Life of Pi" is the next film to be presented by the Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library in its summer cinema series, Pic of the Lit, featuring movies based on books.
"Life of Pi" will be shown at 6 p.m. Monday. In the movie, a writer visits Indian storyteller Pi Patel, now living in Canada, and requests his life story. Pi tells of a disaster at sea and a fight for survival bringing together the young man and a fearsome Bengal tiger. Widely acclaimed as a masterpiece, this film is an epic journey of adventure and discovery - enchanting, thoughtful and visually brilliant.
Based on the novel by Yann Martel, "Life of Pi" is directed by Ang Lee and stars Suraj Sharma. A 2012 release, it is rated PG and runs 127 minutes. The film showing is free and open to the public.
