Doloris Naomi Ashby, 83, of Cameron, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 22, 1931, in Marshall County, W.Va., a daughter to the late Archie and Luerna (Pettit) Whipkey. She was a member of the Wolf Run Baptist Church in Cameron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Ashby, one brother Carl Whipkey, and one sister, Linda Lou Aston.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Linda) Ashby of Cameron, and Terry (Jody) Ashby of Moundsville, W.Va.; one daughter, Penny Lynn (Larry) McCracken of Cameron; two brothers, Homer Mickey of Cameron, and Wayne Whipkey of Wheeling, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Faith (Jeff) Scott, Linc Ashby, Rena Ashby, Jason Ashby, Kayleigh Ashby, Derek Ashby, and Amanda Ashby; three great grandchildren, Levi Scott, Garrett Scott, and Ayslynn Ashby-Klug; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 18, 2014, from 3-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, W.Va., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Higginson officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Wolf Run Baptist Cemetery in Cameron.
