Youth Services System on Thursday honored their 2014 Good Samaritan honorees, Jim and Linda Bordas, at a tribute dinner at the White Palace Ballroom at Wheeling Park.
The Bordases, founders of the Bordas & Bordas law firm, were named as recipients of the award designed to honor those in the community who serve others. As attorneys, they are known as their work as advocates and in 2013, Bordas & Bordas attorneys as well as the Bordas family donated to more than 100 community organizations in the region.
Jim Bordas, founding partner of the firm, said he is honored to receive the award.
Linda and Jim Bordas receive their 2014 Good Samaritan Awards from Youth Services System Thursday during a tribute dinner at Wheeling Park’s White Palace.
"Ever since Linda was first involved with Youth Services back in the (1970s) we have been proud to work with this organization," Bordas said. "We are appreciative of the designation as a 2014 Good Samaritan and know there are many other deserving people who could have been selected for this honor. We are appreciative of the treasures that God has given to us and we look forward to being able to continue to share those blessings with others."
John Moses, YSS executive director, said the Bordases are great community advocates.
"Jim and Linda Bordas have been caring and generous neighbors in our community. They are examples of the parable of the Good Samaritan. They have been important in the lives of many children in the community. Linda Bordas has had a long association with YSS, and with other youth-serving organizations. Their law firm has stood up for families facing difficult circumstances," Moses said.
