Ohio County sheriff's deputies arrested Stephanie Platt on Tuesday for allegedly beating her sister with a spatula from an outdoor grill.
Authorities charged Platt, 24, of 106 N. Huron St., with malicious wounding as a result of a call on Leopold Lane regarding a fight.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with two sisters, both of whom had blood on themselves.
The alleged victim said she and Platt began arguing and Platt spit on her and pushed her.
She said she pushed back and they both fell before Platt began hitting her on the head with the spatula.
Their mother reportedly broke up the fight and threw the spatula across the road and into the weeds.
According to the report, the girls' mother confirmed the victim's story but told police both women were at fault. Members of the Stone Church Volunteer Fire Department transported the alleged victim to Ohio Valley Medical Center, where she was treated for a scalp laceration and a bite mark on a finger and released.
Deputies took Platt to the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville pending her arraignment on Wednesday before Ohio County Magistrate Patty Murphy.
She is free on $5,000 bond.
