Southeastern Honored as HomeCare Elite for 2017

Southeastern Home Care in Barnesville has been named a top agency of the 2017 HomeCare Elite, a recognition of top-performing home health agencies in the United States.

For 12 years, HomeCare Elite has annually identified the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies and highlighted the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.

The ranking is developed by ABILITY Network, a leading information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare. It is sponsored by DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line and the Complete Home Health ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Coding Manual.

“The team at Southeastern Home Care has demonstrated an impressive ability to deliver great patient care,” said Christine Lang, senior director for ABILITY Network. “This is due to the skill and dedication of their clinical professionals, as well as the proficiency and efforts of their quality team tracking, measuring and interpreting the data that supports the delivery of care. Together, they have earned this recognition as one of the top home care agencies in the country.”

Trisha Crissman, chief operating officer and vice president of home care and hospice for CHI Health at Home, said, “It is my honor and privilege to congratulate Southeastern Home Care in Barnesville, Ohio, for achieving HomeCare Elite status for 2017. This elite team of caregivers is a shining example of the excellence we strive for each and every day through our service and compassionate care.”

Crissman added, “As we work to provide innovative programs and solutions to positively impact our industry, helping our patients get better in their own home environment, I am confident our legacy of care will remain strong and continue to expand as a result of the quality, compassionate care provided to each patient in our communities.”

Marci Heydt, senior content manager for DecisionHealth, said, “Southeastern Home Care and its peers have worked hard to improve quality outcomes while maintaining solid profit margins, which is increasingly difficult as home health agencies faced increased regulatory burdens each year.”

HomeCare Elite agencies are determined by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, best practices implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency, and financial health. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least three outcomes in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,064 agencies considered, 2,268 are recognized on the 2017 HomeCare Elite winners list overall.

In December 2009, Barnesville Hospital, Southeastern Medical and American Nursing Care teamed up to create Southeastern Home Care which serves Belmont, Guernsey, Noble and Monroe counties.

Southeastern Home Care’s multidisciplinary team approach to patient care maximizes independence helping people to get back to the life they enjoy. Their team of professionals includes nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aides and social worker, who provide services in the comfort of clients’ homes. This is the fifth time Southeastern Home Care has been named as a HomeCare Elite top agency.

Southeastern Home Care is owned and operated by CHI Health at Home, the national home health provider for Catholic Health Initiatives.
