Bordas and Bordas Attorneys Honored With First Place

Bordas & Bordas Attorneys PLLC, has once again been voted No. 1 in the attorneys category for The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Managing Partner Jamie Bordas is honored by the firm’s recognition from the readers.

“It is an honor to be selected for this award each year because it is coming from our community members,” he said. “Our attorneys and staff work hard to get the best results for our clients and when you receive an award like this it is a great feeling to know that our community is behind us.”

With record results and many of the firm’s attorneys having been named as Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers and Rising Stars year after year,

Bordas & Bordas, founded by Jim and Linda Bordas in 1985, has established a reputation as one of the premier law firms in the region. The firm includes 20 attorneys and nearly 30 staff members with offices in Pittsburgh, Wheeling, St. Clairsville and Moundsville.

Partner Jim Bordas said that the firm’s reputation is rooted in its size, knowledge and resources, all of which help handle cases across a broad range of practice areas.

“Our firm has been able to obtain outstanding results for our clients in a variety of areas of plaintiff’s litigation including personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, oil and gas rights and injuries, mesothelioma/asbestos exposure, mass torts, insurance misconduct, trucking accidents and consumer protection,” he said.

“Almost all of our cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, which means our clients only pay a fee if a recovery is made for them. Initial consultations are always free and no retainer is required as the firm advances all case expenses. We continue to take pride in being able to fight for justice for those who cannot fight for themselves.”

The Bordas & Bordas logo is a shield with four quadrants. The quadrants symbolize four things that are important to the firm – experience, family, community and results. In the center of the logo is a cross that represents the firm’s Christian values.

Experience and results are two strong focal points at the firm, but community and family are as equally important.

Partner Linda Bordas takes pride in seeing the firm participate in community events and help others in need.

“Whether it is an individual or a group, we are always happy to give back to the communities in which we work. We are honored to develop such strong connections with a variety of extraordinary groups.”

Jamie Bordas serves as president of the YMCA Board of Directors and pPartner Scott Blass and his wife, Kathy, founded Ohio Valley Breast Cancer Awareness, Inc., which holds the annual Driving Fore a Cure golf tournament each year to provide support to women being treated for breast cancer. In 2013, Jim Bordas created the Bordas & Bordas Anti-Bully Fighting for Justice Award, which recognizes a student in each of the 15 OVAC schools in Ohio, Marshall and Belmont counties, who stand up for others.

More than $8,000 was awarded to Anti-Bully Ambassadors throughout the region in 2017.

In addition, Bordas & Bordas is a long-time supporter of countless local charities, including The Soup Kitchen, the Marshall County Animal Rescue League, and Catholic Charities among dozens of others. Since opening an office in Pittsburgh, the firm also supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh, the United Way of Western Pennsylvania and Big Brothers Big Sisters, and has established partnerships with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins and KeyBank Pavilion.
