GOLF STANDOUT: Logan Lojszczyk, Brooke

Big things are expected out of Brooke senior golfer Logan Lojszcyzk this year.

“I expect a lot out of him this year,” Bruins coach Ron Ujcich Jr. said. “I expect him to be hitting the ball well day in and day out. I want him to be the one that is leading the team out there on the course, and him to be the person that is leading the younger kids as well.”

Lojszczyk will be up for the challenge. He went to the state tournament as a sophomore and junior and finished on the AAA all-state team. At regionals, he finished third at Parkersburg Country Club with a 3-over-par 76. The second place finisher shot a 75 while the winner shot a 74.

“He was pleased with his finish because the two Pakersburg golfers that beat him played on the course on a daily basis,” Ujcich Jr. said.

“His overall goal is to get back to state,” Ujcich Jr. said. “He is also the person that could possibly lead our team to the state tournament. He knows he has to do nothing but his best. He does get really frustrated when he misses a shot.”

One of his standout performances this year was when he shot a 2-under at Turkana golf course near Beaver Local.
