Yoho Leads Way

WEST UNION — Tyler Consolidated’s Cameron Yoho scored 25 points and added 14 rebounds as the West Virginia Class AA No. 5 Silver Knights hammered Doddridge County, 71-34, in girls’ high school basketball action Monday night.

Meghan Wiseman added 16 points and nine rebounds for Tyler (15-2) while Kylee Evans chipped in 13 points, seven assists and three steals.

Cameron 54, Paden City 31

At Paden City, Rachel Fisher scored 13 points and Alyssa Hager added 10 as Cameron (10-7) beat Paden City.

Alli Bertozzi led all scorers with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Wildcats.

Conotton Valley 68

At Bowerston, Abby Gooding erupted for 33 points as Conotton Valley (9-11) defeated visiting Bishop Donahue.

Jess Robinson dropped in 17 points and teammate April Palmer added 17 for the Rockets.

The Bishops received 25 points from Alexa Yurisko and 17 from Lacey Hampton.

At Weirton, Kristen Saggio’s 14-point effort propelled Weirton Madonna (10-9) past Toronto.

Abbi Smith added 12 points for the Blue Dons.

Jessica Ighnat drained three 3-pointers to lead the Red Knights with 13 points.

Wellsville 59

At Wellsville, Whitney Palumbo totaled a game-high 32 points as Lowellville defeated homestanding Wellsville.

Shawntae Dillard led the Tigers with 16 points, while Marie Keller had 14 and Brittany Bissell (13) and Mikelle Williams (10) combined for 23 points.

Weir 42, Oak Glen 39

At New Manchester, Leah Dankovchik totaled 16 points and Ciara Jones added 11 as Weir edged rival Oak Glen.

Freshman Kiley King led the Golden Bears with nine points.

Caldwell 49, River 45

At Caldwell, Amanda Connell had 16 points and seven rebounds and Leann Hesson added 14 points as Caldwell beat River, despite playing without leading scorer Kristen Nau.

The Pilots (2-18) were led by Megan O’Neal and Erica Williams, with 11 points apiece.

At Kidwell, Ryan Summers scored 19 points and Zach Perkey added 17 and nine rebounds as Tyler Consolidated picked up its second victory of the season, by beating St. Marys (10-6).

Alex Jones added a game-high 10 rebounds for the Silver Knights (2-15).
