Comis leads Dons over Oak Glen

WEIRTON – Ross Comis singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs to lead Madonna (6-0) to a 5-3 victory against Oak Glen.

Will Bowser added a single and drove in a run and scored another to help back the pitching of Michael Rogers, who struck out six and walked five.

Bub Haddox had a triple and knocked in two runs for the Golden Bears.

Indian Creek 1

WINTERSVILLE – Martins Ferry scored two runs on a pair of Indian Creek errors and those proved enough.

Aaron Crawford had two singles for Creek and Sean Smith knocked in the team’s lone run.


Frontier 10

Bellaire 2

BEAVERTON – Bellaire committed five errors and allowed eight runs to score in the fourth inning as it dropped a decision to homestanding Frontier.

The Big Reds, who are now 2-1 on the season, received a triple and a single from Elisha Gillespie.

Frontier, meanwhile, was led by catcher Nat Brookover, who had a RBI triple. Sam Morris added two singles and two RBI.

East Liverpool 2

NEW MANCHESTER – Logan Andrews had two singles and four RBI and picked up a victory as Oak Glen rolled.

Tyler Clunk also drove in a pair of runs for the Golden Bears.

Chelsea Possage had two hits for East Liverpool.

Linsly 1

GLEN DALE – John Marshall won three of gfour singles matches and all three doubles matches and went on to down visiting Linsly.

No. 1 seed Hayden Blazer led the conquest with an 8-0 victory against Weston Mead.

Linsly’s Nick Kinyanjui picked up the only victory at the No. 2 seed with a hard-earned 9-8 victory against Tyler Keller.

GLEN DALE – Linsly took a pair of victories in singles and doubles to pick up the victory.

The Cadets’ top two singles players, Jackie McDermott and Amika Ekanem, were victories and the duo teamed up to win the No.1 doubles match.

Skyler Page and Megan McCluskey won at the No. 3 doubles seed as well.
