Anderson Wins OV Tennis Classic

Laina Anderson, left, took home the high school girls singles final championship at the OV Tennis Classic on Saturday.

Anderson defeated Rachel Ekanem in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.

Anderson had a season to remember as a freshman for the Wheeling Central girls tennis team last spring.

She opened her high-school career with a 21-match win streak and claimed the No. 1 OVAC singles title as well as the Region I title.

She made it to the state tournament before falling in the semifinals.
