Phillips Nets 1,000th Point In Tyler Consolidated Win

SISTERSVILLE–Griffin Phillips recorded his 1,000th career point on Friday night as he helped lift Tyler Consolidated over Magnolia, 64-44.

Phillips paced the Silver Knights (9-4) with 20 points, while Gage Huffman and Tyler West each netted 14 points.

West finished with a double-double as he also garnered 15 boards and Huffman added six assists.

Jake Gamble and Gavin Postlethwait each turned in 14 points for Magnolia (2-6).

Union Local 66, Harrison Central 64

CADIZ–Cal Kildow and the Jets avenged an earlier season loss to Harrison Central as the senior garnered 27 points.

Freshman Dakota Hess helped the cause with 15 points.

Kobe Mitchell paced the Huskies with 24 points, Caden Dalton turned in 17 and Evan Stine added 11.

Cardinal Mooney 62, Linsly 53

YOUNGSTOWN–Tevein Tush scored 18 points and Jon Milton added 10 but Linsly (4-9) fell to Cardinal Mooney.

St. Clairsville 80, Bellaire 38

BELLAIRE–St. Clairsville had four players reach double figures as it dominated Bellaire.

Craig Bober led the way with 16 points, while Brett Vike tallied 15 and Justin Heatherington and Matt Busby each recorded 11 points.

Trenton Wilson paced the Big Reds with 11 points.

Steubenville 77, Martins Ferry 68

MARTINS FERRY — Four Steubenville players cracked double-digits as it defeated Martins Ferry.

Jorian Jones led the way with 23 points while Josh Zimmerman poured in 22.

Ryan Rauch and James Roundtree delivered support with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For the Purple Riders, DeAndre Pugh led the way with 31 points and 12 rebounds while Dasyn Hores netted 11 points.

Reuben Hilson chipped in with 10 points to round out the double-figure scoring.

Paden City 57, Union 38

PADEN CITY — Matt Saxon and Ethan Cross both tallied 14 points as Paden City (4-10) defeated Union.

Montcalm 67, Hundred 64

BLUEFIELD–Travis McCoy recorded a double-double but it wasn’t enough as Hundred fell to Montcalm.

McCoy led the Hornets (4-6) with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Cody Soles chipped in with 23 points and Andrew Zedell collected 15 rebounds.

Shadyside 59, Monroe Central 53

WOODSFIELD — Kelly Hendershot scored 18 points Friday night to help Shadyside hold off Monroe Central on Junior Winland Court.

Collin Holmes added 12 points for the Tigers (8-6).

Zac Jones poured in a game-high 27 points for the Seminoles (5-9).

Beallsville 78, St. John 43

BEALLSVILLE — Wyatt Brown and Dakota Phillips each poured in 19 points as Beallsville moved back to .500 with a victory against winless St. John.

Kollin Ludwig added 13 points for the Blue Devils (7-7), who led by 14 after the first quarter.

Matt Fouty scored a game-high 24 points for the Irish, while Nick DiLoretta had 11.

Toronto 64, East Palestine 38

EAST PALESTINE — For the second time this week, the Toronto boys basketball team defeated East Palestine.

The Red Knights improve to 14-1, 10-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. After hosting Malvern on Monday, they can capture their second-straight conference title against Lisbon on Tuesday at home.

Nate Karaffa led Toronto with a game-high 17 points. Trillion West and Lucas Gulczynski recorded 15 points each.

East Liverpool 71, Indian Creek 62

EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool boys basketball team snuck by Indian Creek.

Derrick Eakle led the Redskins (8-6) with 21 points (five 3-pointers). Austin Judson recorded 19 points. Isaih Vandine and Brennon Norris contributed eight apiece.

For the Potters, Gabe Roach tallied a game-high 26 points.

Weir 59, Brooke 41

WELLSBURG–Luka Haught provided a game-high 18 points and Sebastian Spencer added 13 as Weir (10-3) upended Brooke.

The Bruins (0-15) were led by Alex Lilly’s 16 points.

Wheeling Central 42

Charleston Catholic 37

CHARLESTON–The Wheeling Central defense suffocated Charleston Catholic in the first quarter, keeping the Irish scoreless through one on its way to victory.

Kaylee Reinbeau paced the Maroon Knights (8-7) with 23 points.

Cameron 56

Frontier 32

ST. MARYS — Three Cameron players scored in double figures as it defeated Frontier in the St. Marys Invitational.

Jordyn Hughes led the way for the Dragons (8-4) with 16 points while Madge Lucey netted 15.

Kori Scott was also solid for Cameron as she compiled 10 points.

For the Cougars, Logan Haught had a game-high 18 points.
