Braden Ready For Second Full ARCA Racing Series Season

WHEELING — When asked what he learned during his first full season on the ARCA Racing Series, Wheeling native Travis Braden didn’t know where to start.

“A lot. The cars. The tracks. Knowing how to make my image more visible … everything,” he said Friday afternoon via telephone. “From marketing to performance to technology and parts.

“Honestly, I can’t wait to get started again. I’m excited for the team (RFMS RAcing), the sponsors, the families involved. Everyone has been busting their butts during the off-season to make this year better than last year. I don’t mean that last year wasn’t a good year because it was, but I guess you could call me greedy. We’ve re-shaped this thing from top to bottom.”

Braden is ready to hit the track again, beginning today at Daytona International Speedway in the Lucas Oil 200. The race begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.

That is if Mother Nature doesn’t interfere.

“It’s been beautiful here for the last 3-4 days,” Braden sais. “But they are calling for rain (today).”

Braden is a two-time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, and is continuing to be committed to the ARCA Racing Series for the remainder of 2019, where he’ll work hard to stay a fierce competitor and bring home strong finishes for his sponsors and RFMS racing.

“Having the chance to race another full ARCA season feels like a dream come true, and I have so many people to thank,” Braden said. “For RFMS Racing and all of their sponsors to offer me another year full-time is a great gesture. They all put so much faith and trust in me, and that really drives me to always be on top of my game.

“We had a great 2018, but in all honesty, it was just the tip of the iceberg. None of us will be satisfied until we’re taking home the big trophies, and that’s what it takes to make the difference. Everyone on a team has to want it, and we have that. We’ve been working seven days a week since October on our 2019 program, and I think that will really show.”

As Braden enters his second ARCA Racing Series season, he already has four Top 5 finishes and 11 Top 10 finishes under his belt. Braden also finished the 2018 ARCA season fifth in driver’s points.
