John Marshall Downs Edison

MOUNDSVILLE — Four John Marshall players scored in double figures as it defeated Edison, 68-61 in an OVAC consolation game Friday night.

Mickey Reilly led the way for the Monarch with 21 points while Bryce Yoho was solid with 16.

Tyler Sadoski and Adam Miller netted 12 and 10 points, respectively.

For the Wildcats, Isaac Schmitz had a game-high 23 points and Andrew Pugh bucketed 12.

River 57, Southern Local 51

HANNIBAL — River scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to secure a victory over Southern Local.

John Murphy paced the Pilots (12-8) with 14 points while Colton Lawrence netted 13.

Fort Frye 51, Monroe Central 48

WOODSFIELD — Kelton Fogle scored 13 points and Fort Frye overcame eight Monroe Central 3-pointers in edging the Seminoles.

Caden Fryman added 12 points for the Cadets.

Luke Burkhart scored a game-high 18 points for Monroe Central (10-11), all via the trey. Malachi Rose-Burton added 13 points.

Clay-Battelle 68, Buckeye Local 56

BLACKSVILLE — Seth Casino poured in 28 points and Levi Carrico popped in 26 as Clay-Battelle stopped Buckeye Local’s two-game winning streak.

Jake Mayle and Cameron Grabits both had 12 points for the Panthers.

Brooke 71, Bridgeport 54

WELLSBURG — Logan Williams scored 22 points and Alex Lilly had 18 as Brooke downed Bridgeport.

Alexsy Rasz added 12 points for the Bruins.

Trevonn Ray paced the Bulldogs with 21 points. John Stark and Dylan Gregorcic each added 13 points.

Wellsville 66, Shadyside 64

WELLSVILLE — Shadyside had another long bus trip north and again came up short despite Kelly Hendershot’s 26 points.

Bryce Amos added 15 points for the Tigers, while Collin Holmes had 13.

Weir 78, Martins Ferry 54

WEIRTON — Luka Haught scored 13 points while Reed Reitter and Tanner Mikula both netted 12 points as Weir (14-7) crushed Martins Ferry.

DeAndre Pugh paced the Purple Riders (15-6) with 14 points and Dasyn Hores compiled 12.

Steubenville 77, Morgantown 75, OT

STEUBENVILLE — Steubenville scored 20 points in the first quarter and held off Morgantown in overtime.

Five players scored in double figures for Big Red (15-4) with Josh Zimmerman leading the way with 20 points.

Jorian Jones posted 13 points while James Roundtree IV, Ryan Rauch and Calvin Bickerstaff each netted 11.

Beaver Local 45, Steub. Catholic 32

STEUBENVILLE — Luca Connor posted 13 points, but Steubenville Catholic (7-14) fell to Beaver Local (7-14).

Madonna 67, Valley 40

WEIRTON — Evan Boniti led the way for Madonna with 17 points as it defeated Valley.

Brennan was also solid for the Blue Dons (6-15) with 12 points.

For the Lumberjacks (5-16), Avery Kinkade tallied 19 points and Ryan Baker had 11.

Clay County 60, Tyler Consol. 55

CLAY COUNTY — Tyler West totaled 16 points, but Tyler Consolidated fell to Clay County.

Griffin Phillips and Mark Rucker both netted 12 points for the Silver Knights.

GIRLS

Harrison Central 52, Malvern 28

CADIZ — Lexee McAfee broke Harrison Central’s career 3-point field goal record when she her 113th in the second quarter in a victory over Malvern. McAfee secured seven shots from behind the arc to put her total at 115.

The senior paced the Huskies (7-15) with 21 points while Sydney Starr recorded her 11th double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Buckeye Local 57, St. Clairsville 46

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Emily Holzopfel exploded for a game-high 29 points as Buckeye Local went on the road and downed St. Clairsville.

Alaire Destifanes added 11 points for the Panthers.

Macy Malin paced the Red Devils with 16 points, while Shae Brookover had 14.
