Wheeling Central’s Kenadee Wayt to Run Track at Mount Union
Wheeling Central track and soccer standout Kenadee Wayt recently signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at the University of Mount Union.
During her incredible career with the Maroon Knights, Wayt won six state titles and 10 OVAC championships.
Her career personal records are the following: 100 — 12.62; 200 — 25.73; 400 — 1:00.98; and 800 — 2:23.75.
She was also a member of the 2019 state championship 4×100 team that set a state record.
She also shined on the soccer field where she was named first team all-state as a senior, setting a school record 111 goals for her career.
She was a salutatorian of her graduating class with a 4.0 Grade Point Average.
When Wayt joins Coach Kevin Lucas’ Purple Raiders team, she will be following in the footsteps of her mother, Heather O’Shea Wayt, who was inducted into the Mount Union Hall of Fame in 2011, is a three-time national champion and currently holds the indoor and outdoor records in the 800.
Wayt plans on pursuing the pre-dental program.
