To all involved in the Undo’s Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival, which wraps up today at the Heritage Port in Wheeling. Perhaps the most popular event held at the port, the festival uses proceeds to fund college scholarships.
To Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, for sponsorship of a golf tournament to benefit the local Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center. This year’s event, July 14-15, resulted in a $25,000 donation to the center.
To those in charge of the Heather Miller Memorial Nursing Scholarships program, which this year awarded new scholarships to five students and renewed them for 10 others. The program is in memory of Heather Miller of Wheeling, who was just weeks away from graduating from the West Virginia University School of Nursing when she was killed in an automobile accident.
To Gary West and G. Randolph Worls, honored by The Oglebay Foundation for their contributions to Wheeling’s park system. Worls received the Spirit of Oglebay Award, while West received the Gary and Flip West Leadership in Philanthropy Award. Also, to Joan and Fred Stamp, who were cited for their generosity and leadership of the foundation.
