West Virginia inmate work-release center closing

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia Division of Corrections is closing an inmate work-release center after an inspection identified structural and fire code problems.
The Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety says in a news release that the 34-year-old Huntington Work-Release Center will close on Thursday. It housed 68 men and women and had a staff of 18.
The statement says staff and inmates have already been transferred to other facilities.
