Man accused of robbing business dies of suspected overdose

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities say a man accused of robbing a business in West Virginia and leading authorities on a chase has died from a suspected drug overdose after being apprehended.
News outlets report 36-year-old Justin Brafford was pronounced dead at a hospital Tuesday. Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle says Brafford entered a Huntington gambling parlor Tuesday while wearing a mask, brandishing a weapon and leaving the establishment with thousands of dollars.
Authorities spotted Brafford in a stolen vehicle and chased him. He crashed the vehicle, fled on foot and was eventually apprehended.
Authorities say Brafford told them he’d ingested meth, but he appeared to be fine. His condition declined while being transported by deputies and he later died. Brafford’s body will be sent for an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
