Human remains found in southern West Virginia

PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia State Police say human remains have been found in Mercer County.
First Sgt. J.K. Cooper is district commander of the Princeton and Welch police detachments. He says the remains were initially found Thursday in an area near the Virginia state line and search efforts since then have uncovered more remains. Cooper says police are using multiple search methods, including cadaver dogs.
News outlets report the recovered remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for identification.
