Elmhurst Will Hold Men’s Night Info Picnic
Elmhurst, The House of Friendship in Wheeling will hold a casual Men’s Night picnic from 4:30-6:30 p.m. June 1 for seniors interested in retirement living as provided by the licensed assisted living residence.
“We’re inviting area male seniors to join us around the cooler on our patio for some picnic food and beverages,” said Jamie Crow, executive director of Elmhurst.
“Our board president, Mike Barickman, will provide all the stats about affordable assisted living for retirees at Elmhurst. Two of our residents, Henry Hupp and John Lucas, will be on hand to answer questions about life at Elmhurst.”
The men-only free event will offer attendees an opportunity to ask questions about life at Elmhurst as well as take a tour of the residence located at 1228 National Road in Wheeling’s Pleasant Valley neighborhood.
Crow said, “Elmhurst offers retirement assisted living for men, women and couples. We know that gentlemen are often reluctant to consider an assisted living community so we felt this was an opportunity to share the benefits provided by Elmhurst in a relaxed evening setting.”
Barickman said the event is chance for sons and fathers or other male relatives to come together to learn about Elmhurst’s lifestyle as they consider making changes as family members age.
Reservations are necessary and must be made by May 25 by calling Elmurst at 304-242-0240. There is no charge to attend.
