BLACKSVILLE — The Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees will be rallying around their quarterback, junior Carson Shriver, this season as he returns to his signal calling duties and could see time at defensive back, as well.
He’ll be backed up by junior Drew Boczek and sophomore JC Spears at QB.
The most experienced blocker on the offensive line is senior Allen Nestor, who Coach Ryan Wilson believes will be a key component in the trenches.
Other O-linemen include seniors Jaydon Palmer, Braden Coen and Seth Sheets; juniors Drew Mercer, Tate Elliott, Brendon Skavinsky, Jacob Kassay and Roger Haught; sophomores Easton Rowan and Joe Stewart; and freshmen Alex Danser and Karson Moore.
Shriver will have a plethora of receivers to target as the season goes on. They include seniors Gunner Gum, Noah Sollars, Jacob Shriver and Brady Ammons; juniors Mason Chisler and Adam Kolat; and sophomores Gunner Price, Dakota Walls and Matthew Rodeheaver.
Also giving Carson Shriver options are tight ends Johnny Arnett (senior) and Matthew Gadd (junior).
At running back, senior Daniel Gorbey, sophomores Zac Hall and Maddox Shriver and freshman Maverick Gum will take the handoffs.
Together, they have all put together a strong preseason camp and are clicking well as a unit.
“This team has developed great team chemistry,” coach Wilson said. “The team works hard and truly cares for each other.”
On defense, the Cee-Bees have seniors at every position.
On the line, Sheets, Nestor and Arnett will provide experience, while at Linebacker — Gorbey, Gunner Gum, Jacob Shriver, Palmer and Coen could see time.
Senior ball hawks at defensive back are Sollars and Ammons.
Assistant coaches helping Wilson are Kent Saul, Chris Huffman, David Joyce and JR Kraft.
