John and Jean White

John and Jean White celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 30.

They were united in marriage June 30, 1967 at the Christian Church in Flushing by the late Rev. William Worcester.

Jean White is the daughter of the late James Ross Sr. and Ellen Bolitho Grimes Ross. She is retired from Harrison Community Hospital’s medical records department.

John White is the son of the late Leslie and Geneva Lasch White. He is a retired union mine worker for Consol Energy.

They are the parents of two children. The family includes John L. White Jr. and his wife, April, of New Athens and Garry White and his wife, Mindy, of Flushing. They have four grandsons, five granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.

A surprise family barbecue and swim party was held by their sons and daughters-in-law. They enjoyed a fireworks display and a baseball tournament in St. Clairsville in which two of their grandsons participated.
