Louis and Shirley Zimmerman, formerly of Wheeling, now of Calabash, N.C., celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

They were united in marriage on July 1, 1972, at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wheeling by the Rev. G. Kenneth Gates.

Shirley Zimmerman is the daughter of the late Donald C. and Florence Bixler Jefferys of New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Louis Zimmerman is the son of the late Chester C. and Katherine Klieves Zimmerman of Wheeling.

They are both graduates of Wheeling High School and retired respiratory therapists from the Ohio Valley Medical Center. Shirley also is a graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing.

They are the parents of five children: Katherine Zimmerman of Carolina Shores, N.C.; Rebecca (Keith) Hanson of Calabash, N.C.; Laura (Rick Evans) Snedeker of Wheeling; Jeffery Snedeker of Berry, Ky.; and Timothy Snedeker of Loveland, Ohio.

They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration will be held at a later time.
