Lee and Gary Wood

Gary and Lee Wood of Meadowlands, Pennsylvania are celebrating their 50th anniversary today, June 30.

They were united in marriage n June 30, 1969, in Pleiku, Vietnam.

Lee is the daughter of the late Cu and Doi Nguyen. She is the former owner/operator of Lee’s Restaurant in Cameron, W.Va. Gary is the son of the late Russell and Norma Wood Wilson. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam and is retired from Marshall County Schools.

The couple are blessed with three children: two sons, David of Hartville, Ohio, and Gene and his wife Anna of Aleppo, Pennsylvania; and a daughter, Monica Wood Yeater and her husband, Wesley “Chip” of Washington, Pennsylvania. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

They celebrated the event with family and friends at Gene and Anna’s residence on Saturday. A trip to Vietnam to visit Lee’s family is planned in the fall.
