60th Anniversary Celebrated
James and Rosemary Schmid Welsh of Glen Dale, W.Va., recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married June 24, 1961, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Benwood, W.Va., by the Rev. John J. Griffin with Mary Jean Grubber Ramirez and Gene Lamone as maid of honor and best man.
Rosemary, daughter of Joseph H. and Elizabeth Brant Schmid of Benwood, is a homemaker. Jim, son of James M. and Gertrude Conivell Welsh of McMechen, is a retired Baltimore & Ohio (CSX) Railroad train conductor.
They have been blessed with eight sons, Kevin (Lee) of Bossier City, La.; David of Glen Dale, W.Va.; John of Triadelphia, W.Va.; Daniel of McMechen, W.Va.; U.S. Navy Capt. Thomas (Susan) of Dumfries, Va.; Christopher (Katie) of New Market, Md.; Jeffrey (Kate) of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and Brendan (Katie) of Warwood, W.Va.
Thirteen grandchildren complete the family — Patrick, Sarah (Patrick Laurent), Megan, Shane, Lt. (U.S. Navy) Forrest, 2nd Lt. (U.S. Army) Braden, Katherene, Frances, August, Henry, Molly, Noah and Mason.
