Andersons Mark 65 Years
Lucian and Melba Anderson of Wheeling are celebrating 65 years of marriage on Oct. 14.
Lucian was a Warwood High School basketball player, and Melba was a Martins Ferry Purple Rider when they first met at a dance. They married Oct. 14, 1956 in Martins Ferry.
Lucian is a Navy veteran and retired as a machinist from Weirton Steel. Melba was a stay-at-home mom and then worked as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid.
Melba and Lucian moved to Clearview 58 years ago and raised three children, Lynn Anderson (Brian) of Wheeling, Andrea Little (Bob) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lucian Anderson (Dana) of Culloden, W.Va.
They have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, with special connections to Lucian’s sister Lee Kaiser’s children. They’ve enjoyed a wonderful life together, gardening, traveling, dancing, boating, camping and cruising. They’ve travelled to every one of the United States and have spectacular memories and stories. Their door has always been open to friends and family, and still is.
Congratulations Mom and Dad, Grandma and Pap! We love you!
