Standiford Marks 90th

Violet Gautschi Standiford of Fork Ridge, Marshall County, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

She was born in Martins Ferry on Dec. 15, 1925, the only child of Arthur and Edith Riggs Gautschi.

She is a longtime member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church on Fork Ridge. She has served as president of the Marshall County Community Educational Outreach Service Club and as treasurer of the Fork Ridge Homemakers for a number of years.

In 2000, she was chosen to be the Marshall County Belle and represented the county at Jackson’s Mill.

She married the late Joseph Standiford in 1942. Together they raised six children. The family includes: William (Linda) of Virginia and Joseph (Angela), Donald (Sandy), Kenneth (Kim), Carol (Kevin) Riggle and Susan (David) Noble, all of Fork Ridge. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren complete the family.
