WHEELING — A new program, Grandparents Camp 2017, will be offered at Ohio Valley Medical Center’s nurses’ residence auditorium from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Topics to be addressed will include safe sleep, car seat safety and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for infants and children. Participants will have an opporturnity to meet nurses, talk to a pediatrician and play Grandparent Bingo. All grandparents will be given a free Infant/Child CPR Anytime kit.

Dr. Mackenzie Mincey, OVMC pediatrician and mother of three, will present information for grandparents. She said, “I believe a program like this is so very important. The truth is moms like me are working so much these days and grandparents are called on to babysit their most precious little ones. Advice on child care has changed through the years and our goal is to make sure grandparents are comfortable and have the latest information available.”

This program is open to all grandparents and any other family members who assist with childcare. For more information or to register for this event, call Sherri Kellas, women’s health nurse navigator, at 304-234-8766 or contact her by email at skellas@ovrh.org.
