Parcel Players Stage ‘The Tale of Captin Ficklebeard’

WHEELING — Oglebay Institute’s Parcel Players will stage “The Tale of Captain Ficklebeard” by Zachary Michael at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre, 2118 Market St.

In this original play, Ficklebeard and his band of pirates go on a quest to find an ancient treasure known as the McGuffin. Along the way, they come across legendary creatures, old friends, old enemies and tons of hijinks.

Begun more than 50 years ago, the Parcel Players summer theater program offers young people interested in theater a chance to act, direct, design sets, work with costumes, lighting and other aspects of theatrical production while providing fine entertainment to the public. By fostering young talent, Parcel Players ensures the future success of Towngate and community theater in the Ohio Valley.
