MOUNDSVILLE — The Strand Theatre will be offering acting classes for area students to be held on Saturday mornings beginning on Saturday, Oct. 12 and will run until Saturday, Dec. 7. There are fees for each session.
The classes will present a showcase to the public on Saturday, Dec. 7.
There will be two sessions:
∫ Session 1 (Kindergarten-Grade 4) will meet from 8:30-10 a.m.
∫ Session 2 (Grades five through eight) will meet from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sadie Crow will be the instructor for both sessions. Crow has been performing in the Ohio Valley for over 15 years, having her first start at the Strand children’s workshops when she was 11 years old. After graduating from Wheeling Park High School in 2011, where she was a captain of the championship speech team and president of the WPHS chapter International Thespian Society, she went on to study English at West Virginia University where she graduated summa cum laude in 2015. Before moving back to the Ohio Valley, Crow earned a master of arts degree in English from Duquesne University, where she taught composition and rhetoric.
Locally, Crow has performed with the Strand, Towngate Theatre, and the Independent Theatre Collective, as well as Pittsburgh companies Little Lake Theatre, Duquesne Red Masquers, and Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks in Pittsburgh. She has taught theatre to young actors at the Strand as well as Morgantown Theatre Company.
She said she loves sharing her knowledge with student performers, and looks forward to the Saturday morning classes every week. For questions about the event, email Crow at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
