Auditions For ‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’ Are Saturday
NEW MARTINSVILLE — Auditions will be held for ArtsLink’s presentation of the Wayward Players’ children’s theater production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Lincoln Theater in New Martinsville. Roles are available for students going into grades 1 through 12. Students are asked to prepare a short song, to be sung a capella, and to be prepared to read some lines for the speaking roles.
Those wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire session. Wear comfortable clothes, and no flip-flops or sandals. Call ArtsLink at 304-455-2278 to pre-register for auditions.
Director Adam Croasmun noted, “While pre-registration is not required, it will help things run smoothly on audition day.”
The performances will be held on at 7 p.m. Aug. 1-3 and at 3 p.m. on Aug. 4the Lincoln Theater.
This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. “The Little Mermaid Jr.” takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.
