Parcel Players Stage ‘The Tale of Captain Ficklebeard’

WHEELING — Oglebay Institute’s Parcel Players will stage “The Tale of Captain Ficklebeard” by Zachary Michael at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, July 31-Aug. 3, at Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre.

In this original play, Captain Ficklebeard and his band of pirates go on a quest to find an ancient treasure known as the McGuffin. Along the way, they come across legendary creatures, old friends, old enemies and tons of hijinks.

Started more than 50 years ago, the Parcel Players summer theater program offers young people interested in theater a chance to act, direct, design sets, work with costumes, lighting and more while providing fine entertainment to the public. By fostering young talent, Parcel Players ensures the future success of Towngate and community theater in the Ohio Valley.
