‘Pine Mountain Anthology’ Is Topic at Lunch With Books
WHEELING — “Pine Mountain Anthology: Homegrown Revolution” will be the topic at the next Lunch With Books program at noon Tuesday, July 9, at the Ohio County Public Library in downtown Wheeling.
“There is a great deal of fear raging throughout our country these days. One of the most compelling fears is that divergence will be repressed and divergent voices will be silenced. But the diversity of Appalachian voices will never be totally silenced, not as long as there are writers like these willing to speak — and act-up” it is stated in readings from “Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel: Homegrown Revolution — Appalachia Acting Up,” featuring Scott Hanna, Richard Hague, Larry Smith, Kari Gunter-Seymour, Sherrell Wigal, Omope Carter Daboiku and Marc Harshman.
Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, they begin at noon on Tuesdays in the library’s auditorium. Attendees are welcome to bring a bag lunch, and complimentary beverages are provided.
