WHEELING — New wave music rocks River City at 14th and Main streets in Wheeling starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 in a special pre-holidays performance by the M-80s.

This theatrical power pop rock band specializes in New Wave music from the 1980s.

Evocative of the era, the M-80s band plays music of the Cars, Cyndi Lauper, the B-52s, Blondie, Devo, the Pretenders, Talking Heads and much more.

Jason Miller, co-owner of River City, notes that this extraordinary band can’t often be found in the local bar scene.

“The M-80s don’t play in many other places in this area, especially in a public setting.” Miller said. “This will be a great night of live music from a band that is as much fun to watch as it is to dance to it.”

In addition to the artists mentioned earlier, the M-80s perform music by the Romantics, the Go-Gos, Joe Jackson, Joan Jett, Katrina and the Waves, the Clash, the Knack, the Bangles, the Escape Club, the Vapors, the Outfield, Duran Duran, Neena, Elvis Costello and more.

“The band will begin at 9 p.m.,” Miller said. “No reservations are required, so I strongly recommend coming early to get a good place to watch and dance. This is going to be a unique night people will remember for a long time.”
