‘Superheroes!’ Land in Weirton

Weir High Drama Club Peeks Behind the Mask

WEIRTON — The Weir High Drama Club will be performing the play “Superheroes!” at 7 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov 23, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.

This laugh-out-loud comedy is a must see attraction for comic book fans. “Superheroes!” gives the audience a behind the scenes glimpse of the world’s favorite crime-fighters. See The Incredible Hulk filing his taxes, Superman’s secret identity being discovered, Robin joining a sidekick support group, Batman seeking vengeance upon fast food employees and much, much more.

The play is written by Ian McWethy. It is being produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Corey E. Miller, language arts teacher and drama club/thespian sponsor, is directing the production.

Younger audience members will have a chance to meet and greet their favorite superheroes after the show. Superheroes include The Black Widow (played by Lauren Licause), Superman (played by John Wansack), Spiderman (played by Alex Miller), Aquaman (played by Jason Lipovich), Batman (played by Matt Mosser), Robin (played by Matt Jagela), Wonder Woman (played by Delaney O’Neill) and The Hulk (played by Strider Hannen).

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Doors open a half hour prior to show times.
