Wheeling Poetry Series to Return
WHEELING — The Wheeling Poetry Series is back.
After a series of postponements, the Ohio County Public Library is happy to announce that the series recommences virtually at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with Allison Pitinii Davis.
A superb younger American poet, she is the author of “Line Study of a Motel Clerk” (Baobab Press, 2017), a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award and the Ohioana Book Award, and “Poppy Seeds” (Kent State UP, 2013), winner of the Wick Poetry Chapbook Prize.
Her work has appeared in Best American Poetry, The New Republic, The Academy of American Poets website, and elsewhere.
She holds fellowships from Stanford University’s Wallace Stegner program and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
The Wheeling Poetry Series is hosted by West Virginia Poet Laureate Marc Harshman and is part of the Ohio County Public Library’s popular weekly Lunch With Books programs.
During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, programs will continue to be livestreamed and available for viewing online.
