Foxfire Christmas Set At the Quaker Meeting House in Mt. Pleasant

Don Feenerty

WHEELING — The next Lunch With Books session presented by the Ohio County Public Library will be “The Simple Life — a Foxfire Christmas from the Quaker Meeting House in Historic Mt. Pleasant, Ohio” with Don Feenerty and Music by Faire May.

The event will be livestreamed on the Ohio County Public Library’s official social media sites beginning at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Wheeling native Don Feenerty has been called a Renaissance man by many but considers himself to be extremely simple. So much so that he is starting a YouTube channel called “The Simple Life with Don Feenerty.”

Join the program from the comfort of your own home for “The Simple Life — a Foxfire Christmas from the Meeting House in Historic Mt. Pleasant, Ohio.”

While growing up in South Wheeling, Feenerty’s life was changed for the better by books, especially the “Foxfire” books. Feenerty will share some of his authentic Foxfire collection and items made by Appalachian craftsmen and women. He will show how to brighten up the holidays with an apple, make memorable gifts from a piece of split firewood and how to make collectible gifts showcased in the Foxfire books.

Traditional Appalachian musical entertainment, provided by Faire May, will also be included throughout the presentation.
