Lunch With Books Explores ‘The Borders of Our Minds’
WHEELING — The next Lunch With Books livestream program at noon on Tuesday presented by the Ohio County Public Library will focus on “The Borders of Our Minds” with historian and journalist David Mould.
What are borders? Are they simply political and geographical, marked by posts, walls and fences, or should we think of them more broadly?
In “Postcards from the Borderlands,” his third book on travel, history and culture, college professor, historian and journalist David Mould rambles through a dozen countries in Asia and southern Africa by car, bus, train, shared taxi and ferry, exploring what borders mean to their peoples.
Mould, Ph.D., professor emeritus of media arts and studies at Ohio University, has traveled widely in Asia and southern Africa. Born in the UK, he worked as a newspaper and TV journalist before moving to the United States in 1978. His travel essays and articles have been published in Newsweek, Christian Science Monitor, Times Higher Education, History News Network and other print and online outlets.
