Mountain Highway Plays at Pennyroyal Tonight
The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, Sept. 24, featuring Mountain Highway.
With a style all their own, Mountain Highway is an authentic young family band steeped in traditional bluegrass and gospel music originally made famous by icons like Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and Ralph Stanley.
The band is comprised of four sibling singers who play banjo, fiddle, mandolin and guitar, with their father playing upright bass. The group is often heralded for its tight family harmony. Mountain Highway hails from Lynchburg, Va., but travels extensively to perform at popular music venues, festivals, fairs and churches from New York to Texas.
The kitchen and the doors to the Pennyroyal Opera House open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.
The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100 percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio, just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
