WHEELING — Wheeling Symphony Orchestra is ready for the long-awaited return of Symphony on Ice, presented by Main Street Bank and conducted by Music Director John Devlin.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

The Ohio Valley’s favorite holiday show returns in December with the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra providing the holiday music, with performances on the ice by champion professional skater Gracie Gold, senior ice dance team Cara Murphy and Joshua Levitt, and the Pittsburgh and Wheeling Figure Skating Clubs, along with vocal performances by local middle and high school choirs.

It’s a celebration of the sounds of the season, and a holiday tradition the entire family can enjoy.

Students from local school choirs will lend their voices to the holiday sounds of Symphony on Ice.

Gold is a two-time U.S. National Champion, a 2014 Olympic team event gold medalist and a two-time World Team Trophy champion.

Murphy and Levitt most recently competed together in the 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Members of the Pittsburgh and Wheeling Skate Clubs will also take the ice to delight the audience with performances by skaters of all ages.

Rich Lucas, president of Main Street Bank, said he looks forward to the return of this holiday tradition.

“We love the holiday season and we love the Wheeling Symphony,” Lucas said. “Symphony on Ice brings the best of everything to downtown Wheeling. It’s a night our Main Street Bank family looks forward to every year.”

“I can’t wait to be a part of Symphony on Ice again,” Devlin added. “There is nothing like it. The skaters, the choirs and the orchestra combine to create a truly spectacular event that will bring the spirit of the holidays to everyone at Wesbanco Arena.”

Bryan Braunlich, the WSO’s executive director, said the symphony was pleased to welcome back Main Street Bank as the event’s presenting sponsor.

“Symphony on Ice simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of Main Street Bank, who helped us bring the event back to Wheeling in 2014,” Braunlich said. “After last year’s hiatus, we hope to be back in full force this year with everything that makes this such a special night.”

In addition to seating in the arena, rink-side table seating will be available for a pre-show dinner catered by Oglebay. These seats provide diners with incredible views of the skaters and orchestra. Contact the Wheeling Symphony box office for Information regarding pricing and availability.
