Artworks Around Town: ‘The Art of the Quilt’ Continues, Ohio Valley Paint Out Returns
WHEELING — Artworks Around Town continues to feature “The Art of The Quilt” exhibit for the month of August.
The National Road Quilt Guild has decorated the north end of the Gallery with beautifully hand crafted quilts in many intriguing colors and designs.
A free Gallery hop featuring light refreshments will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5. In addition to having another opportunity to experience the gorgeous quilts on display, there are many small items offered for sale as part of the show. They are all hand made by the visiting quilters and reasonably priced so guests of the gallery may purchase a sample of their skills.
Eric Dye and Artworks are pleased to host the second annual Ohio Valley Plein Air Paint Out. This year, it will be held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.
Artists will have an opportunity to paint in the open air at four locations, Bethany, Moundsville, Oglebay and Wheeling’s Centre Market.
A meet and greet session will be held on the eve of the event, Sept. 28, at Artworks.
This informal time will give participants an opportunity to plan for the painting-filled days ahead.
The cost is only $50 for the entire event or $10 a day for those with limited time to participate. Cash awards will be presented on Sunday.
