It’s a Party in the Barn: Popular Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Fundraiser Returns
WHEELING — The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra announced that this year’s WSO on the GO Party in the Barn Concert & Fundraiser will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Feisley Tree Farm in Belmont.
A cocktail reception will begin at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. and a performance by WSO Jazz Trio JMJ Jazz, featuring Curtis Johnson on sax; Jessica Lee on piano and vocals, and Mark Strickland on guitar.
The WSO on the GO Party in the Barn Fundraiser will feature an evening of cocktails, wine, dinner and music in the historic Feisley barn.
“We look forward to Party in the Barn each year,'” said Ron Presutti, WSO board member and event co-chair. “The Feisley Tree Farm is one of the most beautiful places in Belmont County, and it is the perfect setting for a party and concert. This year’s event will have a Speakeasy feel and feature a very talented trio of Jazz musicians. Guests are encouraged to embrace the speakeasy theme and dress in 1920s era garb.”
Betsy Delk, the WSO’s director of institutional advancement, said, “the proceeds from Party in the Barn support the symphony’s free ensemble concert series, WSO on the Go, which brings symphony musicians to communities all over the Ohio Valley.”
WSO on the Go ensembles most recently performed at Wheeling’s 9/11 Remembrance Service and at Lunch with Books at the Ohio County Public Library. WSO on the Go also boasts a Yoga Series which pairs local yoga instructors with WSO musicians for an hour-long class.
Tickets for WSO on the GO Party in the Barn are $125, which includes a hospitality reception featuring signature drinks, craft beers and wine, dinner by hometown favorite Theo’s Restaurant and a performance by the WSO Jazz Trio JMJ Jazz. Event sponsors will be treated to a special craft cocktail tasting prior to the hospitality reception.
Because of the generous support of sponsors and donors — including title sponsor Roxby Labs — all WSO on the GO concerts will be free to the public to entice and encourage new audiences to become long-time supporters.
