Pennyroyal Opera House Welcomes Veteran Players With a New Band

Authentic Unlimited

FAIRVIEW — The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, Dec. 9, featuring Authentic Unlimited.

The new group of veteran players offers a powerful and energetic approach to bluegrass music. They will bring a fresh, new image complete with a combination of years of musical experience. They plan to give a genuine East Tennessee feel to this musical genre.

Jerry Cole, Eli Johnston and Stephen Burwell were members of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver until Lawson announced his retirement. With Lawson’s blessing and guidance, the three decided to pick up the torch and carry it forward.

The roster was made complete with the addition of sensational vocalist John Meador and mandolin extraordinaire Jesse Brock. Each member of Authentic Unlimited can contribute their musical development through years of experience which began at an early age. Opening tonight’s show at the Pennyroyal will be the Three Rivers Bluegrass band.

The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person.

The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio, just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
